Don Lauro de la Cruz is a Mayan Medicine Man and Sage from Chiapas, Mexico. He has combined different traditions and spiritual paths existent around the world. As a child he was recognized by his community as a healer and since then he has traveled spreading his teachings and medicine. The hearings that he performs open the door to a vast internal transformation process that connects us to the nature of symbols, silence, freedom and specially the sacred essence of the heart.

Don Lauro works for part of the year at the Ecological Reserve El Mirador in San Cristobal de las Casas, where he shares his knowledge with those that seek him. This space, also know as "La Montaña" (Spanish for The Mountain), has welcomed; for more than 15 years, hundreds of people interested on embarking in a road to self-consciousness or physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual healing. During summer and winter workshops and ceremonies are offered to which anybody can attend.

Don Lauro is a teacher that shows you to see the reality around us with new eyes. For him, the most sacred spiritual teaching has to remind us of the simplicity of things and the key for this is to live and recognize our own humanity in all its facets. As a Medicine Man and Sage he has conversed and lived among teachers from distinct traditions; that just like him, have safeguarded teachings that can only be transmitted from heart to heart.

He has also participated in academic and university forums, documentaries, medicine wheels and elder councils. He has recently traveled through Canada, Spain, South America and the United States, sharing his knowledge and Mayan teachings.
